Our mission: As the Worldwide Healthcare Awareness Team we are motivated to spread awareness about health care disparity in nations across the globe, whether that be in terms of health care itself or specific issues within the system such as substance abuse treatment. Our goal is to explore the issues present with current systems in place that cause healthcare and treatment to become inefficient as well as how these issues can be resolved through social innovation, leadership, and trisector engagement between the public, private, and nonprofit sectors of a nations community.

The issue: Health care in China has been in the stages of Reform since the Republic moved from a communist based to a market based economy. However, even in today's world, health equity and disparity have been a hot topic for many Chinese

citizens. Many who can not afford to pay for costly procedures that aren't covered by insurance simply go without the care they need. This extends to those with substance abuse problems as many are refused the treatment, criminalized and go without the care they need to recover. China's lack of substance abuse support is also included in the issues that this team will explore and offer ideas on throughout this website.
